Mechanic temporarily resolved the issue with a "stop leak product" that seems to have temporarily fixed the problem. Need to monitor the coolent level periodically. Car is too old to repair. Cause was timing belt failure after 6. Timing belts are supposed to be replaced every 7 years on this model. Had to have car towed to garage.

Problem diagnosed as faulty canister that collects gasoline vapors. Canister had to be replaced to resolve the problem". Replaced one near tank myself, but still throwing codes after 80 miles or so. Fuel cap replace didn't work. Can't remember exact Pxxxx code. Will try EVAP part under air filter up front as that seems to be a common fix. I hate EVAP problems. Also, a P and can't figure that one out either. The voltage part in fuse box have replaced twice, but it always comes back after about 6 months.

Haven't heard of major issues with the Civics Honda has had issues with transmission problems, but they aren't prevalent in the 4 cyl. They aren't the quickest cars on the road but they are a perfect daily driver, if the price is right then go for it.
